I am sorry to hear that. A lot of bad advice continues to be shared about KU. It does do very well for authors in select niches -- usually authors who have dozens of books in a fiction genre series and/or a very large budget for advertising. But I'm pretty sure most of the advice given online about KU-- "just sign up for KU, it's easy"-- isn't well thought out. Easy things that anyone can do-- KU's main selling point-- almost never pay off because too many sellers crowd the market.
